Becoming a Holly Ridge Police Officer:

Holly Ridge Police Department strives to serve the citizens of Holly Ridge with the highest level of
professional law enforcement service possible.  Holly Ridge Police Officers must have the ability to make
sound decisions, to have good judgment, and to practice solid verbal and written communication skills.  Each
Police Officer is required to operate with the highest level of work ethics under minimum direct supervision.

The Holly Ridge Police Department is selective in the officers chosen to serve the community.  Holly Ridge is
entirely committed to the principals of Community Based – Problem Solving Policing as well as the practice
of total quality.  It is essential that coworkers be chosen who can demonstrate a commitment to these
practices.  Holly Ridge seeks well-educated, healthy officers of unquestionable integrity.

Requirements for qualification are:

Must have a current BLET certification
Must be 21 years of age
Good health and physical condition
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
Must not have a criminal record or a record of serious motor vehicle offenses

Applicants selected for future consideration must successfully undergo:

Submit a completed F-3
Extensive background investigation and criminal/credit records check
Physical examination
Police psychological examination
Drug test
